Scotland family holidays & caravan parks
Scotland really does deliver on the classic images of ruined hilltop castles and rugged glens purple with heather in the summertime
When you think of family holidays in Scotland, you think of castles, windswept hills, beautiful architecture, stunning glens and wild coastlines – and the simple truth is that it really does deliver such romantic images. This is a dramatic country, not just in scenery but in its culture, history and heritage. It may not be big, but Scotland has many treasures crammed within its borders.
The grand old cities of Edinburgh and Glasgow are steeped in tradition and are dynamic modern cities in their own right with great restaurants and bars, historical landmarks and, of course, fantastic shopping. Plan your Scotland family holiday visit around August and you’ll be able to enjoy the Edinburgh Festival, which puts a spotlight on the nation’s arts scene; our Seton Sands Holiday Village is just 30 minutes away, making it an easy trip into the city to enjoy the vibrant atmosphere and shows on offer. Look further afield and you’ll find smaller cities such as Dundee and Aberdeen also have their own particular charms and unique characteristics that make them worth visiting.
Wildlife watchers will find otters, eagles, red squirrels, whales and dolphins galore in the miles and miles of countryside and wide open sea. Or if you prefer wildlife that’s a little easier to spot take a trip to Edinburgh Zoo – it’s home to over 1000 animals including the only panda and koala bears in the UK.
Golf fans won’t need to be told twice that the golfing here is second to none, with world-class courses such as St Andrews, Royal Troon and Muirfield all worth a visit. You can even book a golf break, to practise your swing and tee off with a friend or the rest of your family whilst staying on our parks.
And of course, a trip to Scotland wouldn’t be complete without seeing an iconic castle. Whichever of our Scottish holiday parks you decide to stay at you’ll have plenty to choose from, with Culzean, Edinburgh, and Stirling castles all within easy reach.
